Happy holidays, everyone!

Update on my last post about the Athlete's Closet 5K: I WON MY AGE GROUP! I'm pretty pumped about this as it has never happened before. I beat the 2nd place 20-29 year old female by 8 seconds or something pretty close. Unfortunately I missed the awards ceremony because my cousins were dancing in the Nutcracker. I have the second 5K coming up on Jan. 7th so hopefully I will be able to improve my performance.

At the moment I'm starting to train for the Get Your Rear in Gear 10K in mid-March. Profits benefit colon cancer. Mom, Uncle Tom, Liia, and a few of her friends ran it last year. I think we're all signing up again this year.

Training for a much shorter race is nice...the workouts are all shorter too! The 10K plan I'm using has two days of strength training built in too, so that's a nice difference.

I did my two miles on the treadmill...it was CHILLY outside. (Do you like my picture of an inside workout? Chris added that. There's weather symbols for when I run outside too. Look for them soon!) I felt pretty good. I walked for 2/10 of a mile in between the first and second miles. I ran at 5.5 mph on the treadmill on the random setting. I prefer to run outside so hopefully we have a mild, dry winter.
