My mid-week schedule consists of runs Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Like I said in my last post, I sometimes shuffle these a bit to fit my schedule. For example, this week I'll run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. They all started out as "3 Mile Runs" but as it gets closer to race day, they begin building. Wednesdays build first, then Thursdays, and eventually Fridays. So currently my mid- mid-week run is up to 4 miles. Wednesday run mileage stays the same for two consecutive weeks and then adds a mile. So I ran 4 miles last week and this week, therefore next Wednesday is 5 miles. I think it builds up to 10 miles on a Wednesday and then starts to come back down a few weeks before the race.
Anyway, the interesting thing I saw on my run today. Actually, I heard it before I saw it. As I was finishing up my second 2 mile loop, I heard jingle bells coming towards me. I was thinking the other day that it might be a good idea to run with a bell or something so people can hear me coming. And, I thought to myself, "Here comes someone who had the same idea!" But as they approached I thought, "Wow. That's a VERY jingly person." It was an older man and he waved when he got closer. And I saw his jingle bell BELT. And I thought, Wow, how festive. Then he went by me - and I saw his reindeer antlers. And I wanted to chase after him and be like, "Sir! You have the best running outfit I've ever seen!" But I didn't, of course. But if I see him again I'll tell him!
