So, it's been a while. I don't really have an excuse...just laziness. I'm trying to work on that. I like to make New Year's Resolutions...I have two months to figure out what I want to work on next year.

The marathon is in like TWO WEEKS - yikes! I did 12 miles today. I felt GREAT the first 10...and then not so great the last two. But I pushed myself and I felt like I finished pretty strong.

I tried running 7.5 minutes and then walking 2.5 straight from the get-go. It keeps my endurance up and my pace is actually slightly faster than when I "jog" continuously. It definitely was great for the first 10 miles - which is almost exactly 2 hours. I think in the race I'll have to change the ratio for the last 16 miles. (Disgusting, right? You complete 10 miles and there's still SIXTEEN left? Well, 16.2. Even Worse. Ewww.)

Honestly, I just want to finish. I don't care if I have to crawl across the finish line. Well, that would be embarrassing. I don't care if I have to WALK across the finish line. The finish is open for 7 hours. I hope that means, 7 hours after the last wave starts...or 7 hours after the winner crosses it. You have to maintain a 16 minute mile pace, which is totally doable if I have to walk a lot in the second half. Especially if I'm closer to 12 minute miles the first half.

The next two weeks are easier, so no excuses!! I'll be out there (or in the gym on the treadmill) running!
