Week 7 Long Run

On Saturday I was supposed to do my 12 mile long run. My legs felt really tight and heavy. I managed to run the first 5.5 miles, and then I kind of lost it. I was really distracted by job searching nonsense and I was just not mentally into my run. I walked the next 4.5 miles and then because I wasn't sure what time it got dark, I drove home and walked the last two miles on my Kingswood loop. I was very, very frustrated and disappointed in myself that I couldn't run the whole thing. I was proud of myself for not totally giving up and finishing all the miles. I know I need to concentrate mentally from now on. I am also thinking that some music would help me on my weekend long runs so I have something else to focus on. Any suggestions?

I'm ready to get back on track with my training this week and be mentally ready as well!

Well you did finish your miles even though you weren't in to it. Not sure I like the idea of running with music. I'd rather you be aware of what's happening around you.
