I didn't have time to run yesterday due to work and a family gathering at my house, so I did my easy Thursday run just now. It was late so I ran on the treadmill at the gym. Since Tuesday and Thursdays are supposed to be easier running days, I ran at a 12 minute mile pace on a 1% incline. When I first started training, it was hard for me to hold that pace continuously, but now it feels easy! I guess I'm improving. Tomorrow I have a 10 mile long run, but I'm working until 2 so I will have some time for my legs to rest up before my long run. I need to remember to not push the pace on the long run. The goal is to finish the distance, not to race the distance.
Speaking of races, I'm running the Rock and Roll half marathon in Philly in a few weeks. I ran a 12:19 pace when I ran the half marathon in the spring, so I think my goal will be to improve my pace time for the half marathon. Depending on how I'm feeling that week, maybe I'll even try to run sub 12 minute miles!
