This past weekend my family spent some time down the shore. On Saturday morning Chris, my dad, Uncle John, and I ran the Wildwood Crest Beach 5K. (I wore old shoes since it was in the sand; hence the same shoe stats as last time.) It was a breezy, cloud-covered morning on an out-and-back course down the beach. The race was great! There were about 275 runners and there was a good number of spectators out as well. Uncle John and Dad went 1-2 in the 60+ male age group! It was Uncle John's first time winning his age group so he was pretty excited!!!

After the race, we headed back towards the award ceremony. They had bananas, orange slices, bagels with cream cheese, soft pretzels, and WARM EGG/CHEESE/OPTIONAL MEAT SANDWICHES. Um. Best post-race spread EVER! (The race director said they paid for some of the food. Since the race is just for the recreation department, they spend a lot of the money on making it a great race for the participants.)

Following the awards, they called bib numbers for raffle prizes. Chris won a $25 Shell gas card! So he was happy to have participated. We had a great time and would definitely run this race again!

Miles: 8.2
Shoes: 77.3
