Today I did not feel like going out for a run. Chris had to prompt me to drag myself off the couch. Wednesdays are "sorta long" runs and this is the first week where the Wednesday run was longer than Tuesday and Thursday. You're also supposed to run Wednesdays pretty hard. I did NOT feel like putting forth any effort, but I decided to head to the gym.
As soon as I opened the door I noticed the drop in temperature, and despite the misty, rainy weather, I decided to run outside. AND I FELT FANTASTIC!!! I really pushed myself and it was the probably the best I felt running ever. I have a 1 mile loop around Kingswood and it's pretty hilly, but I still ran below a 12 minute mile pace. I ran one short, steep downhill and then switched direction so I was running short, steep uphills and the longer, gradual downhills. That probably helped me with feeling so good. Also, the air was misty; it was like someone was constantly spraying me with mist and I think that helped me feel so good as well.
I'm glad I went and I'm thrilled I felt so great. I guess all this training is starting to pay off!

Good job Janetter! It will all pay off in that 26th mile :) I joined the YMCA they have here in the doctors offices next to my apartment building, I highly doubt I'll do much running outside in Newark, so you'll have to remind me what that is like from time to time! |

Keep up the good work. I know it's hard to get started sometimes... |
