I ran an easy four miles on the Schuylkill River Trail Saturday morning. It was beautiful and breezy. The trail was crowded with cyclists and walkers and joggers. I felt alright - it was the first time I've run since I ran the half marathon last weekend.

They were having a national TRAILS day at the Betzwood trailhead. So I walked around and got some info/maps on the SRT. There were also tons of girl scouts earning badges. They had a few free hikes. One was scheduled for 1:30-3:30 so I went home and Chris and I decided to go.

We showed up at Washington's Headquarters - the meeting place. There was a boy scout troop but they were doing their own hiking. We couldn't find anyone in charge. There was a mother-daughter pair looking for the hike too (and a sign in the parking lot!!)but when they asked the park ranger, he didn't know anything about it. So the boy scouts gave us a map and told us where to go, and Chris, Theresa, Courtney, and I went on our own hike. Courtney is just finishing her junior year of high school and Theresa is the leader of their girl scout troop. They were very friendly and we all had a good time, even though we missed a turn on the way home and ended up hiking extra. I can now say I went hiking with complete strangers. :)

I meant to post this yesterday, but I had to work so I went to bed. Today after CVS I went to the gym and did an hour of cross training. When I got home I did three sets of (5 pull-ups, 10 burpees, 5 burpee-pull-ups) to get ready for the Spartan race in July (IF we do it)! My arms are going to be sore tomorrow!!
