On Sunday I ran my second KOP 10 Miler. The weather was kind of gross (spitty drizzle) but it was the perfect temperature for a long run. I enjoyed the course a lot more this year. Since I live on this side of 202 now, I often run on a lot of the roads we raced on, so I know the hills. Right after the 8th mile marker there's a KILLER uphill and then you make two quick right turns. While I don't normally run up the big hill, I do run on the road you turn on to. So I had the advantage of knowing that that road is slightly uphill for another half mile or so. (I dropped some discouraged people on that one!) I didn't hang around for the post-race festivities, but I must say, I LOVE living so close to the race. It doesn't go in front of our house, but you could see the runners go down the side street one house over. Best of all: I dropped about 2:04 from last year's time!
