Eat with Erin

Today I met with a nutritionist, Erin. Our insurance covers six nutritionist visits per year, so I figured I might as well take advantage of them. She came to our house and we talked about what I eat in a typical day and how I can improve that. I need to eat more fruits and veggies, and a bit more dairy. We also talked about slowing down my meals to help decide if I'm still hungry for a second portion, and trying to stick to serving sizes. My biggest goal is to drink 8-9 glasses of liquids (mostly water) a day. I'm going to try to work on this first. We also talked about using an app on my phone to track my calories so I will try that as well. We're meeting again in two weeks at Wegman's for our next session.
Afterwards I headed out for a 5 mile run. Well, 5.1 miles. The weather was PERFECT. It took a bit for me to get into my groove but then I settled in quite nicely. I read in Runner's World about trying to finish runs hard, so I really pushed myself the last 0.4 miles. It was tough but I did it!
