Yesterday I ran a Shamrock Shuffle 5K at Upper Merion HS. Can we just talk about how running a race that starts down the street from your house is the greatest thing ever? I literally rolled out of bed, threw on some running clothes, walked down to get my t-shirt and bib, walked home to put my t-shirt away/see if Chris wanted to come, and walked back to the race. It was a breezy morning, so it was nice I didn't have to wait outside or in a car.
It was a small race of about 111 people, and we ran on UM's high school/middle school campus. It was a dumbbell course that we ran twice. There were a few spectators but I wish the HS volunteers along the course had been a little more enthusiastic.
I was really nervous about my foot since I hadn't run in about 10 days, but it felt ok during the race. It felt a little sore afterwards but not all day. I didn't run today but I will try another 3 miles tomorrow to see what it feels like. Fingers crossed it feels alright!
I ended up losing 1.8 pounds even without much exercise last week. My meetings are on Wednesdays so we'll see if I lost anything this week. Hopefully I did because I was much more active. (5 WW activity points vs. 17 so far this week!) Also, I gave up sweets/dessert for Lent so that should help as well! I am also excited that it's been a bit warmer and that it is light so late now. It helps keep me motivated!
