10K Training - Week 4B Day 2

Apparently I never blogged about it, but on Feb. 4th I ran the third 5K in the Athlete's Closet Winter Series and I dropped TWO MINUTES off my time! Talk about a sweet PR!! My mom was there to cheer me on AND my number was 728 - my birthday - so I had a lot of extra good luck. And my training's been paying off.

Suddenly I've noticed that I can run a lot faster. I've dropped about a minute off my mile pace when I do my workouts and I'm not sure why. I guess it's the fact that I'm doing my best to get all my workouts in. Whatever the reason, it makes me feel great!

So I've recovered enough from the cold I had last week (I missed a few workouts - boo) to get a run in today. Tuesday's workouts are up to 3 miles now. I found a nice, sidewalked loop around school that I'm planning on using. This mild winter is spoiling me - I've been running in a long sleeved t-shirt. It's WINTER! I'm not complaining though.

Alright, it's bed time. I need to be ready to register for Broad Street tomorrow!! Happy Valentine's Day!
