Tuesday evening I made it out for a COLD run. Although it was 27* and clear, it was pretty darn windy! I decided not to go to yoga after work since I had grad class and finish up some reading beforehand. I knew I probably wouldn't get a run in on Wednesday due to a long meeting (which was true) or Thursday due to Winter Storm Pax (which certainly looks like it will be true). **Sidenote: Chris hates that they name winter storms so I threw that in just for him!** Anyway, I figured getting my three mile run in would take less time than going to yoga. I was just SO unmotivated. It looked nice but I knew it was cold and windy. Eventually I suited up (although not well enough) but then I sat around procrastinating for 15 more minutes. I finally convinced myself that I would feel better if I got it over and done with and did!
I'm glad I got out there. I felt pretty fast but I couldn't tell if it was because of the cold and the wind. (Of course the wind blew in my face for the 1.5 mile straightaway I run on my loop.) I had to run on the roads since the sidewalks are still icy/not shoveled, and it was rush hour so I had to be extra careful of the traffic. Otherwise, I felt pretty good. I'm hoping to make up one of my two missed runs on Friday and then I have my "long" four mile run on Saturday. Hopefully the weather starts getting nicer (JESUS MAKE IT WARM!) so it stops being so icy and I can get my runs in before school or in the evenings.
