Yesterday Chris and I ran Bryn Mawr Running Co.'s Feel the Love Couples 5K down at the Navy Yard. The sun was shining but it was cold and WINDY. (Like, I'm-running-but-not-going-anywhere windy.)

It was an interesting race concept and I liked it. There are four categories of couples: Lovers, Blood, Same Sex, and Mixed. Chris and I were in the Lovers category (which had to be opposite-sex pairs I believe). There was also an option to sign up as an individual (and be a loner) or sign up as an individual (and be assigned a partner). Runners completed two identical loops of the same course but in opposite directions. I liked being able to wave at Chris the three times we passed and again at the finish. Also, it was very flat which was nice.

I ran 28:12 which I was very happy with. I was the 223rd finisher out of 339 finishers, and I was the 52nd female out of 79 in my age group. Chris ran 35:00 which is great since he doesn't run much and didn't train or anything. I am not sure how we did as a couple because I didn't see us listed in the results. I e-mailed the race director to let them know I was disappointed that we weren't listed as we had registered early and both finished. Hopefully they write back that it was just an oversight or something. We'll see what they say.

Have a great Sunday! I'm off to the gym for some cross-training.
