So I've decided to hold off on a marathon until September. It's too crazy training for a full with school and grad school. Instead, I entered the lottery for the Broad Street Run (cross your fingers!) and I'm signed up for three half marathons before June 8th. I'm HOPING to PR in at least one of them. Right now, my PR is 2:16:31. Someday I want to run a sub-2:00 half. We'll see.
So today was my long run of four miles. It was chilly but I ended up being almost too warm. I felt alright outside, but I realized I was drenched when I got back inside. It was pretty icy and I had to walk/slow down in numerous spots. I stuck to the roads (as opposed to the sidewalks) where I could because they were not as slippery. Overall I felt pretty good; my shin was bothering me a bit during and after the run. As you can see, my second mile was much slower - I had to trudge through a stretch of snow since there were no sidewalks and no shoulder.
Mile 1: 10:38
Mile 2: 11:57
Mile 3: 10:46
Mile 4: 10:40
0.36 mile walk
