10K Training - Week 3A 2 Miles

On my 10K training plan Thursdays are "2 Mile Run + Strength". This is the first Thursday this year I actually got a workout in! I have a lot of prep time on Thursdays so I was able to leave school to get home in time for a run. The weather wasn't awful...cloudy and cool. Kind of breezy. It was actually pretty nice for a run. I ran the Kingswood loop twice and I was trying to push the pace since it's such a short run. Not too shabby if I say so myself. :)

When I got home I lifted some free weights for 20 minutes or so. I have to get another day of lifting in I think. Muscle burns more calories than fat and makes you look leaner. Or something like that. :)

Mom: when I cross train I just go to the gym and walk on the treadmill. I set it on the "Random" setting and I normally do the first quarter at 3.5 mph, the middle half at 4.0, and the last quarter at 3.5 again. Sometimes it's harder or easier depending on what the treadmill gives me for random. If it's nice I occasionally will walk outside, but I can read while I walk on the treadmill so I normally look forward to that.
