Thank goodness I joined a gym because it is bitterly cold outside. I went to the gym after work. It would have been 18 degrees if I ran outside. Plus it was late and dark, so I was happy to go to the gym. It wasn't very crowded since it was so late.
I did a 5K "program" on the treadmill at 1% incline. I averaged about 6.0 mph, but increased my speed the final mile. (I increased a tenth of a mph for each tenth of a mile that I ran.) I actually felt really good.
I decided to drop down to the Ocean Drive 10 Mile race in March instead of the full marathon. I haven't been training very consistently so I'd rather drop down to a shorter race than get hurt. I will count my treadmill miles but not my cross training miles towards my 1,000 mile goal.
