River Towns Marathon Training Plan

The River Towns Marathon is on Saturday, May 3rd. I purchased an individualized training plan and this is the first official week. Unfortunately, I was sick this week and missed a few of my workouts. :-/ I got at least a mile of walking in every day (even the day I was running a fever), so I was pleased with that at least.

On Monday, I had a two mile run scheduled. The plan calls for a 10 minute dynamic warm up, which is something I'm not used to, but I'm trying it out. I jog around the block; it's about half a mile. Then I do Frankenstein Walks, leg swings (front and back, and then side to side), lunges, high knees, and jump squats. And then I'm super tired before I've even run!

My goal pace for my two mile run was 11:30.
My splits are below:
Mile 1: 11:21
Mile 2: 11:25
So I finished in 22:46 at a pace of 11:23. GOAL PACE MET!!

But my goodness, my legs were SO SORE Tuesday night/Wednesday. I think it was those lunges!
