10K Training - Week 2B 2.5 Miles

FINALLY got a Tuesday workout in after work...first time this year! I went to the gym around 6:30 for a 2.5 mile run. The gym is pretty small and was crowded but I got my favorite treadmill. I set it up to 1% incline to "counter-act the lack of wind resistance". I was listening to the 2000 Grammy nominees CD (hey, 6th grade memories!) and I would run for one song at 5.5 mph and then switch to 6.0 mph for the next song and then back down. It was a good strategy since I never really knew how much longer I would have at that pace and it made the run fly by.

I've noticed I feel more tired when I run at a steady pace on the treadmill. Recently my outdoor runs have been under a 10-minute mile pace, but when I'm inside it just feels so much tougher. Weird.

Anyway, hopefully I can get in my 30 minutes of cross-training tomorrow. I have a meeting after work so we'll see. Keep your fingers crossed that I'm motivated!
