Happy New Year! Yesterday was my first day back at work after break, so I got up early to fit in a run. Getting the new year off right! (Today we were off for a snow day so I got to sleep in again. Tough one-day work week, I know!) Anyway, because it was supposed to snow last night and I had an eye doctor appointment right after school, I got up at 5 and headed out around 5:15. It actually was warm compared to how the day ended. And I was very bundled up. I got in a three mile run before heading home to get ready for school. I hadn't run in a few weeks, but I felt alright during my run. My splits are below:
Mile 1: 10:52
Mile 2: 11:05
Mile 3: 10:48
2014 Resolutions
I have a few resolutions for the new year. Here are a few:
*Drink more water. Some days I don't drink anything, so my goal is AT LEAST 32 oz. (I know...that's only half what you're supposed to drink, but it would still be an improvement!)
*Run/walk 2014 km throughout the year. That's 1,251.44 miles. I know, sounds crazy. (Although I read about some people who are running 2014 MILES...uh, insane.) But it's something to work towards. Hopefully, it translates into just being more active overall.
*Run 14 races in 2014. I think this will be a fairly easy goal as I tend to run close to this. I can just throw in a few 5Ks if needed. (And secretly, I hope to PR in at least one distance at some point during the year. 2013 did not bring me any PRs.)
*Eat more fruits and vegetables. This is a tough one for me. I have to be better about cooking at home and incorporating more fruits and veggies into meals and recipes.
